I have used this for about 2 weeks and now it turns on for about 2 seconds and shuts off again. There were no instructions with it so I don’t know what to do to re-set it or whatever needs to be done.

That’s a sign and a safety feature that the unit does not have enough water in the reservoir. Please fill to the required level. You’ll see a red line inside the unit to fill. If filled above the line, it will not steam. If empty, the unit will automatically shut off.
